As an example we will use Boruch Rappaport’s Ycademy Sandbox. Preparation of the Project The ingredients of our Project are first of all a WordPress with the XO theme loaded, then we need a flash component, the 3D banner and finally we need some images to load into the component to display on the home page of XO. Finally we need to properly embed the component. Implementation To start with I have loaded XO to Boruch’s ycademy sandbox and activated the theme. YorgoMan was shouting for weeks as he estimated that his website was outdated. In fact it was not all that bad, but when he saw the new XO and the Evo2, he just screamed for it. Well if this keeps him off Facebook …. The Concept of the YorgoMan site The idea was to build a very visual site (these youngsters don’t like to read and write). His Evo2 is entirely media based with photo, video and music galleries. As the absence of text in the xml files constitutes a handicap for optimization, Evo2 is paired by an XO 2011. Both sites are interlinked whereas on the XO we rotate 3D banners with screen-shots of Evo2 and linking to the corresponding Page on Evo2. From Evo2 a link leads back to the blog. Boruch Rappaport’s Author site has passed the test and looks as great as always. Lower Section Trouble As we had problems with the display of 2 columns in the second lower section, we used a three column layout there and the two column layout in the section just preceding it. Jewish Calender and Dates While sorting out some design issues on the site, I thought it was an appropriate move to display the dates in Hebrew. You can optionally output the Hebrew date in the Latin charset to display: June 24th, 2005 – 17 Sivan 5765. An other option is the spelling of the Jewish month names when using the Latin charset. This can either use the default Ashkenazi pronunciation of Cheshvan & Teves, or the Sefardic pronunciation of Heshvan and Tevet.
