<p>We have been looking at <a title="Surya Ray" href="http://yorgonestoridis.com/people/surya-ray/surya-ray/" target="_blank">Surya Ray</a> to demonstrate the importance of getting in control of your online image. Of course it is impossible to achieve that goal completely, but one thing is sure: if you don’t build your profile, someone else will.</p>
<p>The profile is not just what you punch into profile pages from social networks and similar. It is what people perceive when surfing the net, it is the footprint you leave out there, it is what trackers may collect and interpret.</p>

<p>Google Search returns can be of paramount importance. Or, as we say here: the first impression is the best, namely if it is a bad one!</p>
<p>When you search a company or a person to buy a product or a service or just by curiosity, you get Google’s search returns right in front of you and what you see there can influence you right away as it is something like the ‘first impression’.</p>
<p>Here is what Google returns as I write; please consider that my 3 entries there are the result of my conquest of Surya Rays Name Keyword since almost 24 hours, when I registered the domain suryaray.net.</p>
<p>On the first 2 spots you find LinkedIn, a third party program where Surya Ray has set up a public profile. This is fine, however Surya serves LinkedIn to generate traffic to their own site; the typical give and take between users and ‘free’ programs.</p>
<p>On rank 3, you find a Company, carrying the same name and which owns the .com domain.</p>
<p><strong>On rank 4 there is an image damaging ‘Fraud Alert’, I would prefer to get rid of.</strong></p>

<p>Finally, have a look at the top right Google Ad; the kind of generic ad which automatically grabs search terms and drives traffic to Facebook. Following the link, I land on my Facebook page (as I am logged in, where I type into the search “Ray Surya” as suggested by the Google Ad.</p>
<p>Surprise, surprise … here I am again :-).</p>

<p>On all the above links exposed, be it on Google or on Facebook, we never end up on a site belonging to Surya — his image is in the hand of third parties.</p>

<p>Yet another place we can examine for impact is the Google Image Search. Here Surya Ray’s Image is well present on the top 20 (red footprints), however, look at the images picked by Google from my website (green footprints)?</p>

<p>Of course we can d a test with an image of Surya (I hope you don’t mind Surya, I pinched your profile pic from a social network, thanks.). For the purpose of the exercise I converted the pic into a black and white version to recognize it easily.</p>

<p>We will trace the Photo and see if it makes it into Google and where :-).</p>
<span id="Conclusion"><h3>Conclusion</h3></span>
<p>The internet is not just limited to social networks. People continue to look up other people on Google and the search returns impact heavily on our performance. If our profiles are present only through social networks where you have to login before being able to click on your target’s site link or contact, you lose already loads of traffic. The free service is provided in exchange of one of your most precious assets: Your TRAFFIC!</p>
<p>Marketing is about ‘findability’ and creating visibility in the target market with the purpose to convert traffic to sales, clicks to customers and bits to cash. Selling from someone elses website (social networks) is not ideal, your own site (or shop) inspires more credibility and professionalism.</p>
<p>Clicking all day on social network content to generate visibility is time-consuming, often inefficient and producing mainly cyber-waste.</p>
<p>Building a high performance website is much cheaper than wasting your time on building a social profile with so-called social activity. I am not saying that you should not be socially active, but in a targeted and efficient way.</p>
<p>The fact to climb Google Top 10 saves money (think about the alternative: Google Ads: don’t even think about achieving anything substantial below $20 a day, rather $100). Also a well-connected website optimized for Search Engines and Social Networks will free your time you have been wasting on useless social activity just for the pleasure of tracking programs and for the benefit of social networks for whom you build the main assets, traffic and content, instead of building your own wealth.</p>

Now 12 hours later, here we go: Surya Ray Domain As the .com was already taken, I registered the suriaray.net domain at yorgodom :-). Yes, that’s about 12 hours ago. I pointed the DNS to a yorgobiz server and loaded a Semiomantics XO script and optimized it a bit. Then I punched in 1 post saying that the site was about Surya Ray and syndicated 25 posts from my Author blog into the site. That’s it. Surya Ray on Google’s Top 10 Surya Ray makes it with the new domain to rank 6, just one rank behind the YORGOO blog :-) beating already most of the competitors and large networks. The goal is to pass ahead by tomorrow. Surya Ray on Page 2 Surfing Google further, we find our entry on ranks 18, 19 and 20! That’s 5 in the top 20 and 2in the top 10. <p>I like particularly the speed and the storage as well of course as the new 8 MP camera which will be comparable to a point and shoot camera. Also it comes with a built in hybrid infrared filter, the kind of stuff you talk about in high-end dSLR cams. The camera will capture 73% more light and shoot 33% faster up to 2 pics per second.</p>
<p>Finally, 12 year old son is eyeing my iPhone 4 he wants so badly, that i cannot resist but to gor for the 4S.</p>

<p>Unless you are a tech and Apple freak or unless you have a kid like mine, there is no good reason to upgrade to the iPhone 4S since iPhone 4 users get also the iOS5 onto their phone; Siri is still in Beta and frankly, you could probably do without for another year.</p>
<p><a title="iPhone4Photos" href="http://iphone4photos.net" target="_blank">iPhone 4 Photos </a>are already pretty good as you can see on my iPhone 4 Photo blog. Of course if you like to replace your old point and shot cam with a newer generation device, then the 200 bucks spent on an iPhone 4S could be anice alternative.</p>

<p>Sure 200 Million Dollars was good money back in 2003 when Paul got his 127m (416ft) toy, considering the price of Windows and Office however, it was just pocket money.</p>
<p>2 Helicopters, 2 submarines, 60 staff … all financed by us … and parked this Summer in front of my house. He didn’t invite me for a drink mind you.</p>

<p>And while I was calculating and imagining Paul sipping Champagne on the Air Conditioned deck his Guests had fun with the Jet Skis and the ballet of the Helicopters polluted acoustically the place.</p>
<p>Up to now, I was a Windows freak, may be also just because there is nothing better out there. But as I am sitting in front of Windows all day long, frankly, I don’t need to sit in front of Paul’s Yacht he has screwed out of my (and other’s) wallet when I am taking a day off at the beach!</p>
<p>If this is the way Microsoft is building its image, then, believe me, there is no big future wherever Paul parks his Yacht.</p>
<p>When a week ago I spotted the Super yacht for the first time here, I thought it was funny .… yesterday when sitting at the beach, I thought it was more of a provocation and my friends agreed.</p>
<span id="Paul_Allens_Dream_-_our_Nightmare"><h3>Paul Allen’s Dream — our Nightmare</h3></span>
<p>I know, Americans love to talk about The Dream and Americans have been kept dreaming into the biggest dept ever created on earth by People like Paul Allen who have raked in the Billions while the stupid crowd has been kept dreaming. Sure Greece is Bankrupt and in bad shape; the USA are not much better and the per capita debt may even be bigger than the Greek debt. The difference is however that the American Households are debt ridden as well while here in Greece, the households have a positive net value.</p>
<p>Paul, your impressive Yacht is a beauty but it is the wrong time and the wrong place for it here. Take your boat and go back home to where you come from — Seattle may appreciate your show-off more than we do here. May be you should think of using your money in a more intelligent way than to screw up the summer break of Greeks who are happy to get away from Athens for the week-end of the 15th of August ( just for your educational shortfall: the 15th of August is the second most important religious holiday here — but I cannot expect that you care about other people’s culture and the places where you park and pollute the place with your provocative Octopus).</p>
<span id="A_Chance_for_Paul_Allens_Philanthropy"><h3>A Chance for Paul Allen’s Philanthropy</h3></span>
<p>Like so many people having been able to accumulate big fortunes, Paul Allen is called a Philanthropist. A Greek term meaning etymologically someone who “loves Humanity”. Here is something you can do positively Paul: next time you park in Vouliagmeni, pick me up with one of your helicopters or tenders for a cool drink and a guided tour through your superb Yacht. The Co-Founder of Microsoft obviously knows where the world is best! The 126.18 meter long Yacht looks quite impressive in the bay. Considering that the boat was the largest private Yacht when delivered in 2003 it still looks like the real thing ranking number 12. As you can see, there is only one of the two helicopters on board as I take the picture. The Yacht is equipped with it’s own submarine, a cinema, recording studio and about everything an average dude needs to live quietly and nicely off the hassle of these day’s financial markets. The big boys place their ads along with your name, profile or keyword and make the bucks while you, fooled,Â  have thought that they would help you to promote <strong>your</strong> business.</p>

<p>It’s a bit like the Editing job; brilliant content, lousily published will just not make it. The quality of your publishing can be improved largely with a solid site framework, such as Semiomantics frameworks. Personal fine-tuning however will always make the difference. <p>Make it a rule to think in campaigns, whereas the goal is to get your site to Google Top 10 ranking on the selected keyword or keyphrase.</p>
<p>Example: if your site is about “<a title="How to Publish your Newsletter" href="http://yorgoopublishing.com/home-business/how-to-publish-your-newsletter/" target="_blank">How to publish a Newsletter</a>” then post about this topic as many posts as are needed to reach your Top 10 ranking, in stead of jumping from one topic to the next without ever reaching on any keyword an authority position.</p>
<p>YORGOO Publishing, another Semiomantics based site has reached rank 4 on “How to publish your Newsletter” with just one post, beating 242,000,000 competitors on Google.</p>

<p>Once you have reached your top 10 position, you must maintain it; just continue to publish once in a while, depending on the competition, a post targeting the selected keyword.</p>
<p>A campaign on a keyword is similar to promoting a URL: keep your focus until the goal is reached before you shift to the next keyword. If and when you shift, make sure you have the necessary resources to campaign for the next keyword while maintaining your achievements on the first target.</p>
<span id="Know_your_Priorities"><h3>8. Know your Priorities</h3></span>
<p>Focus on reaching Google Top 10 before you think about web design, graphics, ads and other distractions. If your site can not be found by searchers, no one will ever see your ads or beautiful graphics.</p>
<p>Priority number one is therefore: Reach Google Top 10!</p>
<p>Once you are there, you are interested in offering your visitors a good first impression: create empathy with your site design, look and feel. Aim to offer your visitors quality content and a positive surfing experience.</p>
<p>Only on the third level or priorities I put ads.</p>

<p>Applying the above rules, I have been doing pretty well over the years and I believe all those who have followed Ycademy Seminars and who have implemented the above on their own sites are reaching Google Top 10 positions … almost at will and more importantly: the Google Top 10 rankings have long lasting effects and that is where you make and save money in your marketing effort.</p>

<p>We will keep you posted about the fixes. As all scripts work perfectly well on WP 2.7.1, there is no immediate reason to upgrade and if you are using any of the problematic plug-ins, such as feedwordpress, just remain put; we are working on a fix and it’s probable that the feedwordpress developer will come up with a new version shortly.</p>

<p>Bloggers are not developers and do not want to spend their time on technical issues, they are busy blogging. (Wow, this may be a major discovery for some developers, huh.)</p>
<p>When there is a WordPress update or a new version, then plug-in developers may need to adjust and that’s OK. As they are all smart and often self-declared gurus, they should be capable to use their superior skills to provide a tested stable product. Also, it would be helpful to get a clear list of what has changed and a mention about the need for updating. If the site continues to behave well as before without an update, then that should be mentioned in a user-friendly way, understandable by us average bloggers.</p>
<span id="We_want_clean_Plug-ins"><h3>We want clean Plug-ins</h3></span>
<p>TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN</p>
<p>Dear Plugin Developer,</p>
<p>we are fed up with the widely applied “Screw-the-Free-Plug-in-User-Community” business Model. I know, you put a lot of work and effort into your product and you are expecting a reward; glory does not feed your kids.</p>
<p>However, I would prefer a clean version, even if I had to pay for it. A version without any irrelevant hyperlinks and distractions, a version without importing your whole web site into my blog dashboard; I hate Alex King for that.</p>
<p>Sure you are learning from the best, Matt himself.</p>
<p>But we also can learn from pay TV and allow people to get an ‘advertising free’ version of media.</p>

<p>In the mean time I will continue to clean your scripts before using them and I recommend all users to do the same.</p>

<p>FBlaster is a new Semiomantics Facebook Development with the purpose to populate your Facebook Fan Page with any content namely from your WordPress or any blog site. <p>Considering that Facebook Fan Pages display content in an iFrame, it is important to integrate as much of the FBlaster content with facebooks other features in order to gain visibility on the facebook search and in order to establish communication between the fan page content and the facebook audience.</p>
<p>In order to accomplish this, FBlaster communicates with the facebook wall, notes and comments. Facebook comments can be integrated into FBlaster as well as the oposite is true as well: FBlaster Comments can populate the Wall and Notes as well.</p>
<p>FBlaster allows to manage your Facebook content from outside. FBlaster also takes advantage from the multiple feed opportunities granted by Facebook to export Facebook content to the WWW with the goal to add exposure on Search Engines, namely on Google.</p>

The problem is: these squeeze pages are not Google efficient and do not generate traffic per se. For this reason, marketers then promote their lead generation page with yet another page or site or with ads, such as the typical <strong>work from home ads</strong> on Google.</p>

<p>Lead Generation requires visibility, high visibility. And visibility we get when our site ranks high on Google search returns relative to our targeted keywords. <p>Once we are available via the search engine, we then have to offer to interested people what they are looking for. To make the pipeline efficient, we need to make sure that we offer the shortest possible link to what people are searching for, and that’s a link to our web site, blog, online publication outside of the social network.</p>
<span id="Follow-up"><h3>Follow-up</h3></span>
<p>Our website allows readers to comment and subsequently we can follow up on those comments as the case may be. <p>Incredible and just note: I had not defined an excerpt when editing and Google did not pick up the default 55 first words from WordPress, but they found the deep essence well hidden in the post.</p>
<p>Anyone else still claiming that Google is a semantic nutshell or fruit cake?</p>

Please note that all involved posts have been posted according to the YORGOO Publishing Publishing Model from my Authors Blog at YorgoNestoridis.com. Editing as per YORGOO Press recommendations have been applied on the YORGOO Times site namely.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">You can look up most any combination of “work at jelly” with other keywords, chances are that we will turn up on the top 10.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This is just a Demo Campaign without any commercial ambition, just to demonstrate an application of what we learn at Ycademy Online Seminars and by following Publishing and Editing Guidance from YORGOO Publishing. The use of Semiomantics Scripts makes things obviously easier.</p>
