    Digital Photography

Digital photography has made photography simpler and definitely more fun these  days. Instant imaging is being used everyday, not only by professionals but by so many on the world wide web, email or cell phone due to its convenience and speed.

    Old cameras – Kodak Brownie

Never mind the ‘days of the old school yard’, do you remember the days of the good old ‘Kodak Brownie’? I certainly do!

My first ever camera, the Kodak Brownie 127,  my first real treasure. My prize possesion, carefully protected in a brown canvas cover with a leather strap. Worn round the neck and used with such pride, brought out of he cupboard to record family events and outings.

The frustration and fun trying to load the film onto the spool, getting the film lined up carefully with the little sprockets so that when you rolled it on it was all aligned and not askew. And so few exposures on the film, so no messing about, you had to get your subject lined up correctly, no second chances. Smile, keep still, say cheese!

Then the impatience in the waiting, in getting the film developed. Would or wouldn’t it all come out as you wanted, did you make any mistakes.

    Digital cameras

We have progressed, its the age of the digital camera. Shoot away! No film to reel in, to develop. Just shoot till you drop. Select what is good, discard the rest. Play with your photo editor till you achieve the desired image and print or publish to the world wide web for all to see.

    Nikon Coolpix P90

Today with my new digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix P90, I have more fun with no hassles. Its a go anywhere camera with so many superb features.   It really is so easy today. With a bit of practice and patience most anyone with a digital camera can produce a good photo.
