This Sec­ond Part of Make Money with Twit­ter deals with Automa­tion, while the First Part took care of Cus­tomiza­tion of our Twit­ter Account.

To Make Money with Twit­ter, you need to asso­ciate a com­mer­cial link to this Tweet, for exam­ple an affil­i­ate link, or a link to a prod­uct page.

The Twit­ter Blaster Script I am using on Social Net­work Pub­lish­ing is ideal for receiv­ing key­word related Digests. Such Digests can be received every 4, 12 or 24 hours.

Onder other tools on Tweet­Later you find a Digest Mail­ing func­tion. Use the key­word Wiz­ard to cre­ate the keyword(s) of your digest and select the interval.

Make sure to change your Tweet­Later email address to the email address you use on the Twit­ter Blaster. Here below the set­tings on Tweet­Later and Twit­ter Blaster:

Twit­ter is clean­ing out by dis­con­tin­u­ing its own aut­o­fol­low fea­ture and maybe also by sanc­tion­ing peo­ple using auto­mated fol­low­ing with tools such as Twollo. Aut­o­fol­low tools are con­sid­ered “disin­gen­u­ous”. So, don’t use those tools.

We will not enter any fur­ther into this topic here but we will explain how you can auto­mate rela­tion build­ing fur­ther at the Ycad­emy Online Sem­i­nar this week-end.

For the record, here below the word­ing of Biz Stone’s mail to Aut­o­fol­low users:

Hi There,

I’m con­tact­ing you because you have a Twit­ter account for which
we enabled some­thing called “aut­o­fol­low.” This is not a pub­lic
fea­ture, it’s some­thing we did for a lim­ited set of accounts
such that they auto­mat­i­cally fol­low any account that fol­lows
them.

We’re going to dis­con­tinue aut­o­fol­low because this behav­ior
sends the wrong mes­sage. Namely, it is unlikely that any­one can
actu­ally read tweets from thou­sands of accounts which makes
this activ­ity disingenuous.

How­ever, we under­stand that there may be excep­tions such as
appli­ca­tions built using our API or the abil­ity to exchange
direct mes­sages. There are also some who think it’s sim­ply
polite to fol­low back other accounts.

While we’re going to stop sup­port­ing aut­o­fol­low, we’d like to
find a way to sup­port the other goals folks are really try­ing
to accom­plish. Please feel free to reply to this email and let
us know how we can do this bet­ter together.
