The reload­ing of the back-ups have been com­pleted from server side. All sites which do not show now, are irre­me­di­a­bly lost unless the site owner has per­sonal back-ups which could be loaded.

After­math

The sit­u­a­tion is seri­ous and it reminds me of the shock after a Tsunami or after a major Earth­quake. First the shock, then the anger and then , … yes, then the brave will get up and rebuild. Rebuild bet­ter, safer, dif­fer­ently, but REBUILD!

We are all in the same boat and vic­tim of an unfor­tu­nately more com­mon event online than many may be aware of.

Right now we are dress­ing a list of dam­age in order to define pri­or­i­ties. Please com­ment this arti­cle to let us know, which of your URL’s are miss­ing. Please con­sider that your domains must point to the server using the DNS set­tings as indi­cated in Host­ing Update 3.

We will dress sep­a­rate lists for sites at Ycademy.net, Semiomantics.net, YORGOOBlaster.com, so please don’t post these URLs for the time being.

Host­ing Sell­ers and Resellers:
In most cases we need to rebuild the reseller sites — this is def­i­nitely a pri­or­ity. We will set up a spe­cial site to deal with host­ing resellers later today. Your whm is back up, how­ever you need to check the state of your whmcs cus­tomer inter­face as the case may be.

Spe­cial Case: YORGOO Blaster Sell­ers
The site at yorgooblaster.com as well as all our back-ups are gone. As this was a con­tent rich web­site tak­ing care of set-up instruc­tions, sup­port and a mem­ber­ship area from where buy­ers would down­load the prod­ucts and updates, we will not be able to rebuild this site imme­di­ately. As an urgent mea­sure, we will link the down­load to the Pay­Pal return and add a quick instruc­tion to the down­load. If needed we will load the YB sites for cus­tomers and do basic con­fig­u­ra­tion for them. More later.

Spe­cial Cases: Ycad­emy and Semi­oman­tics
Ycad­emy and Semi­oman­tics need to be rebuild from scratch; there were 118 sites and 118 MySQL data­bases on Ycademy.net and about 100 on Semiomantics.net. Please allow 24 hours to allow us to set up a new site for com­mu­ni­ca­tion. As these sites had a par­tic­u­lar struc­ture we will rethink the con­cept and pro­pose to Ycad­emy Pros a new struc­ture whereas you will be able to use your own domain names; these two net­works will emerge stronger than ever as we can apply all the knowl­edge gained about online pub­lish­ing and key-word mar­ket­ing dur­ing the past 2 years . More on the new Ycad­emy and Semi­oman­tics web­sites which will be up within 24 hours for bet­ter communication.

Spe­cial Case: Gar­den Route Pub­lish­ing, Gar­den Route Direc­tory and Host­ing South Africa related Web­sites

The Good News
When there is mass destruc­tion, there is also oppor­tu­nity to rebuild and to re-think about how we will rebuild. Destruc­tion often has a heal­ing effect, in the way that weak­nesses we have to cope with can be wiped out, con­cepts can be adapted to the lat­est stan­dards and results can be opti­mized.
