IT Con­sult­ing can be offered to fam­ily, friends or busi­nesses who wish to become more inter­net or com­puter savvy and who may want to build their own pro­file, image or busi­ness online.

An IT Consultant’s job descrip­tion could look as follows:

“An IT con­sul­tant works in part­ner­ship with clients, advis­ing them how to use infor­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy in order to meet their busi­ness objec­tives or over­come prob­lems. IT Con­sul­tants work to improve the struc­ture and effi­ciency of an organization’s IT systems.

IT Con­sul­tants may be involved in a vari­ety of activ­i­ties, includ­ing mar­ket­ing, project man­age­ment, client rela­tion­ship man­age­ment and sys­tems development.

They may also be respon­si­ble for user train­ing and feed­back. In many com­pa­nies, these tasks will be car­ried out by an IT project team. IT con­sul­tants are increas­ingly involved in sales and busi­ness devel­op­ment, as well as tech­ni­cal duties.”

We may how­ever mod­ify the date to Decem­ber 12 and 13, 2009 if not all Decem­ber Sem­i­nar par­tic­i­pants will have received the Decem­ber course mate­ri­als in due time. In such a case the Decem­ber Sched­ule will be imple­mented on a later date.

Build your Pro­file and project as an IT Con­sul­tant based on your pref­er­ences, know-ledge and ambitions.

Con­vert your above pro­file to a plan and cre­ate an outline.

Build a Web­site to pro­mote your IT Con­sul­tancy Services.

Build your Sales Pipeline by Adding the nec­es­sary soft­ware and sales man­age­ment pro­gram to your site.

Add an affil­i­ate pro­gram to allow third par­ties and cus­tomers to be rewarded for pro­mot­ing your services.

• Wrap up your Pur­pose and Goals in form of a master-plan with short, medium and long term goals.
• Set-up and con­fig­ure your IT Con­sult­ing Website.
• Basic cus­tomiza­tion of the site.
• Set-up, con­fig­ure and inte­grate your sales pro­gram, shop­ping cart and affil­i­ate program.
• Hook the new busi­ness to your exist­ing pro­file and pub­lish­ing and mar­ket­ing network.

This Sem­i­nar is extremely ambi­tious as will be the 4 fol­low­ing laps of the IT Con­sul­tant Cycle. On the other hand, the main tasks will con­sist in giv­ing a pro­fes­sional pub­lic face to what you have learned and devel­oped for your own pur­pose dur­ing recent months and to wrap it up for com­mer­cial purposes.

Bud­get: we will equip all par­tic­i­pants where needed with all the course mate­ri­als. Where it involves licensed soft­ware, we will spon­sor the mate­ri­als par­tially as in the past. The max­i­mum cost per months for Ycad­emy Pros is as at present $50.

As Ycad­emy charges below out of pocket cost, we expect par­tic­i­pants to help each other where needed at no cost, namely in as much as the web devel­op­ments for the per­sonal use of the par­tic­i­pants are concerned.

Please keep in mind: this is a Team Effort to build for each par­tic­i­pant a per­sonal and cus­tomized busi­ness plat­form. All Par­tic­i­pants are Con­sul­tants and Cus­tomers at the same time, allow­ing us to gain expe­ri­ence dur­ing role plays and workshops.
