Web Design Training

This week we will hold daily Web Design Train­ings to test a new Ycad­emy Course about Web Design Basics. The calls will occupy the daily call slots of Ycad­emy and YORGOO Calls. The train­ings are deliv­ered online at yor­GOtalk.

The Goal of the Train­ings is to pro­vide basic knowl­edge about Web Design to par­tic­i­pants. Par­tic­i­pants will be able to apply the gained knowl­edge and know-how to a Word­Press based web­site. Par­tic­i­pants learn how to cus­tomize their web­site by apply­ing basic Web Design Elements.

To make the start­ing point some­what eas­ier, we will start from the bases of Semi­oman­tics XO RC (release can­di­date script).

Par­tic­i­pants need a Domain, a Word­Press Instal­la­tion, Semi­oman­tics XO RC.

Tools needed: a code edi­tor, such as PSPad (free down­load) and an image edi­tor, such as GIMP (free down­load) or Photoshop.

To access the con­fer­ence, no down­load or install is needed. Make sure you have speak­ers or bet­ter a head­set with a Mic to actively par­tic­i­pate. A web cam is help­ful but not required.

Web design is a huge topic where the own imag­i­na­tion only is the limit. Web Design Basics by Ycad­emy is designed for people

- who want to quickly learn basics in order to pro­ceed with basic cus­tomiza­tion of CSS dri­ven web templates.

- who want to go beyond basics in a sec­ond step and join the Ycad­emy Advanced Web Design curriculum.

- who need basic knowl­edge in order to bet­ter and more effi­ciently com­mu­ni­cate with hired web designers.

The course will focus on Web Design Basics exclu­sively; it does not include pro­gram­ming or devel­op­ment, nor the elab­o­ra­tion of a com­mu­ni­ca­tion con­cept or of a Project Charter.

The course will start on Mon­day, Sep­tem­ber 7 and end on Sep­tem­ber 15, 2009.

The 12 Train­ing unite will be deliv­ered as follows:

Tues­day, Sep­tem­ber 8, 2009:         8 — 10 pm GMT

Wednes­day, Sep­tem­ber 9, 2009:   9 — 10 pm GMT

Thurs­day, Sep­tem­ber 10, 2009:    8 — 10 pm GMT

Fri­day, Sep­tem­ber 11, 2009:           8 — 10 pm GMT

Mon­day, Sep­tem­ber 14, 2009:       9 — 10 pm GMT

Tues­day, Sep­tem­ber 5, 2009:         8 — 10 pm GMT

One train­ing unit of 1 hour on a one to one bases, please take an appointment.

Our spe­cial Web Design Work­shop web site pro­vides all details nec­es­sary to fol­low. The train­ing units will be recorded and put at dis­posal of qual­i­fied participants.

The Web Design Train­ings are free for Ycad­emy Pros and Ycad­emy Sep­tem­ber Sem­i­nar Participants.
