BuddyPress
BuddyPress 1.0

Wordpress MU is a great idea, however we have never ever seen multiple individual sites powered by WPMU achieving significant results on Google. This seems to be a general problem with networks where users contribute content and the site owner needs to find a balance between providing a stable framework and his ambition to reach top 10 positions on Google on keywords targeted by the users. One of the reasons may be the constraints of the blog farm software where a high degree of standardization through out all participants’ sites is necessary.
BuddyPress and Google
Can BuddyPress contribute to give individual users higher visibility on Google? Probably yes, considering that BuddyPress will trigger more activity on the individual sites. But there is more: BuddyPress can be set up to show content which n most other social network structures is not publicly visible because hidden behind a login screen which makes content inaccessible by Google and other search engines.
Furthermore, BuddyPress allows to create feeds about each user’s activity; such feeds can be dealt with in various ways, namely they can be fed into blogs, social networks such as Twitter or Facebook. It can therefore be expected that appropriate configuration and tweaks will enhance visibility on Google.
BuddyPress and Semiomantics
Semiomantics tuning applied to WordPress scripts has proven to be highly efficient, providing the best measurable results ever published in detail. Semiomantics Tuning for WPMU is new and is applied for the first time on YORGOO Media, a WPMU based framework, enhanced by BuddyPress. Applying a Semiomantics tuning to WPMU plus BuddyPress will have to prove it’s efficiency yet, but it is expected that within the next 7 to 10 days first tangible results will become available.
The goal is to build the best performing MU-BuddyPress powered formula, where each individual site can claim Google top 10 positions on relevant keyword categories.
We will report about the progress and the features activated on YORGOO Media and BuddyPress.
