Google Top 10 with Vegetable Garden Design

After the previous post we have implemented the set-up as discussed. The domain has been registered, hosting acquired and WordPress was set up before loading the latest version of Semiomantics XO.

Just for the fun and for a first shot at Google for indexing purposes we have posted a short post about Vegetable Garden Design and the purpose of the site.

Vegetable Garden Designs on Google

A few minutes after the post, the site was indexed on Google and the first post listed on rank 54 of  7,450,000 search returns. A good start considering that we have not yet configured the site.

Google Top 10 Step 2

Now we need to configure the framework and site scripts properly in order to get best visibility and publishing quality.

1. Keywords: Vegetable Garden Design

The principal keyword is “Vegetable Garden Design” and we added some sub-keywords to end up with the following for the purpose of this exercise:

• Vegetable Garden Design
• Vegetable Garden Design News
• Vegetable Garden Design Trends
• Vegetable Garden Design Tips
• Best Vegetable Garden Design

2. Configuration of  WordPress

Here we apply a standard configuration whereas we use our main keywords as category slugs. We also add some plugins namely for tracking, networking and to enhance our permalinks.

3. Configuration of Semiomantics XO

This part concerns some work on the semantics of the publication. As these settings are customized for each publication, they take time and need some fine tuning over the next few days and may be weeks to assure the Publication gets positioned perfectly where we intend it to be on Google.

4. Web Design

this is not a web design exercise; for this reason I will just leave the site with a standard XO style sheet. May be at a later stage we will do some work there.

5. Content

Now we need to compile some content to get quickly some first Google rankings.
