The brand new Global Sports web site is pro­gress­ing. Some new fea­tures have been added, namely flash ban­ners for the header and a 120x600 sky­scraper to fea­ture snap shots from the life at Global Sports. New Media mod­ules have also been installed.

The top flash ban­ner con­sists of 4 header ban­ners rotat­ing using a flash rota­tor pro­vid­ing also the ran­dom shut­ter transitions.

The look of the site changes com­pletely with these dynamic ele­ments. The header can be used to fea­ture hot prod­ucts, cus­tom prod­ucts, pro­mos or any other item by just replac­ing the exist­ing ban­ners. (Full size view on click.)

The Side ban­ner is com­posed of 7 sep­a­rate ban­ners which are loaded to a flash rota­tor sim­i­lar to the head ban­ner. I will not dis­play them all here but here are some of them:

How about Music while vis­it­ing the site?

Global Sports Music

Vis­i­tors to Global Sports may like to get the vibe by lis­ten­ing into some of Global’s pre­ferred tracks by using the small but hot YouTube player. The idea is sim­ple: Cre­ate a play list on YouTube and load it to the player.

For the test run we have just selected tracks from friends of Global Sports, such as Shola  Ama and JP Esq.

The music player is located on top of the People’s Gallery:

Nike, Adi­das, Jor­dan and Friends

A sec­ond YouTube mod­ule is on dis­play right under the fea­tured Images on top left of the site. We are test­ing the home page hold­ing 3 YouTube play­ers now, the third one being in the side­bar right, close to the bot­tom of the page.

This sec­ond player dis­plays brand ads Nike, Adi­das, Jor­dan and oth­ers. It’s just one more media com­po­nent which can be used for other pur­poses, for exam­ple to dis­play video clips of cus­tomiza­tion of sneak­ers and caps or Lim­ited Edi­tion products.

Just for the record: the third video, located in the right side­bar at the bot­tom is the lat­est clip loaded to Global Sports US own built-in video gallery.

Global will select which fea­tures it wants to dis­play. As they are all loaded, one can also imag­ine a chang­ing dis­play, depend­ing on the mood, the weather, the price of tofu, or other good, sci­en­tific founded reasons.
