New Semantic Communication Tool

Semi­oman­tics is re edit­ing a new Lim­ited Edi­tion of its Semi­oman­tics XO script. XO has been the most pop­u­lar Seman­tic Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Tool devel­oped by semi­oman­tics in June 2008. The new ver­sion runs on the CMS of Word­Press 2.8.4.

The main pur­pose of Semi­oman­tics is to facil­i­tate con­nec­tiv­ity and com­mu­ni­ca­tion between a pub­lisher and his tar­get audi­ence via the inter­me­di­ary of a CMS and search engines. Semi­oman­tics devel­ops scripts on the base of Word­Press to trans­late pub­lish­ers’ seman­tics into a lan­guage rec­og­nized by search engines and cor­re­spond­ing to expec­ta­tions of the tar­get audience.

Prac­ti­cally speak­ing, Semi­oman­tics builds web­sites which aim for Google Top 10 rank­ing under tar­geted empathic expressions.

Semi­oman­tics XO has served as a base for mul­ti­ple new devel­op­ments, such as YORGOO Press and its deriv­a­tives Tabloid and News­Cast. Time has come to rebuild a new base, tak­ing into account new pos­si­bil­i­ties offered by the Word­Press back-bone as well as by new Web 2.0 applications.

At present we are test­ing two release can­di­dates of the new frame­work and theme. We are con­fi­dent enough to test the new Semi­oman­tics XO Pub­lisher on one of our main sites, i.e. on the YORGOO Blog. For the pur­pose of cre­at­ing an Author ver­sion we run XO Author on a sub-domain of Yorgo Nestoridis.

The flex­i­ble lay­out options allow users to adapt the lay­out to needs. On YORGOO Blog we run a basic XO Pub­lisher with a Mag­a­zine type of lay­out on the front page.

The Author ver­sion is still under devel­op­ment and we are work­ing on hard-coding some addi­tional fea­tures to reduce the need for plug-ins. Basi­cally this is the same script as the above XO Pub­lisher; dif­fer­ences are mainly due to a dif­fer­ent set of con­fig­u­ra­tion settings.

1. Sched­ule: The new XO Frame­work will be released on Sep­tem­ber 1, 2009.

2. The XO Release Can­di­date (RC) Theme will be released to the Ycad­emy August Sem­i­nar Par­tic­i­pants for per­sonal use. Dur­ing the Sem­i­nar we will con­fig­ure an Author Site and cus­tomize it accord­ing to par­tic­i­pants’ pref­er­ences. The RC Theme will run on stan­dard Word­Press 2.8.4 or on any upgrade thereof.

3. The new XO Frame­work will be pro­duced in 25 cus­tomized copies only; the value and suc­cess of our scripts resides par­tially in the fact that only few priv­i­leged pub­lish­ers can get the Semi­oman­tics edge over competitors.
