Firefox Crashes on WordPress

Or how the Big Brothers mess with our Life

Have you noticed the increasing number of Firefox Crashes recently? It happens for sure when you try to load media to your WordPress Blog Post or bage, or, rather when you try to access the media up-loader from the WordPress editor.

The reasons could be inherent to WordPress, since WordPress 2.6 added support for Gears, to speed up the administrative interface and reduce server hits (wikipedia). It could be inherent to the recent Firefox update or to the Windows Vista Service Pack 2, or to Adobe Flash.

In as much as I find, it’s not a Vista Issue as it also occurs on XP. For once Microsoft is out of the race. The culprit is the incompatibility between Firefox with WordPress Media loader and Google Gears and Adobe. Na!

Google and Firefox and WordPress, what a great Club!

How to prevent Firefox Crashes on WordPress

There are two ways to at least temporarily take care of the problem:

- disable Gears in your Browser

or as I did,

- delete Google Gears all together.

To do this: just go Start — Control Panel — Programs and Features and delete there Google Gears.

Happy Blogging!

PS: Nice Stuff our Big Brothers provide us with, but free is just never free or it’s not worth a thing; you decide.
YORGOO Call Tonite: we will help you to cut out Google Gears.

Hey I’d love to congratulate you for such a great made forum!
thought this would be a nice way to introduce myself!
In order to grow capital it is usually a sensible conclusion to begin a savings or investing plan as soon in life as feasible. But don’t worry if you have not begun saving your assets until later on in life. As a result of hard work, that is experimenting the best investment vehicles for your cash you can slowly but surely increase your finances so that it adds up to a large amount by the time you hope to retire. Look at all of the available asset classes from stocks to real estate as investments for your money. A wisely diversified portfolio of investments in various asset classes can make your money multiply throughout the years.
