Publish Google Maps

In a recent post we have tested the inte­gra­tion of Google Maps on the exam­ple of Vou­liag­meni, Greece. Geog­ra­phy related con­tent is a good rea­son to pro­vide Maps. Since Google Maps with Satel­lite and Hybrid Views are avail­able using the Google Maps API, they can be asso­ci­ated to dynamic posts and sta­tic pages with just a few mouse clicks.

The advan­tages of using Google Map fea­tures on our sites are enor­mous as they include the access to the most inter­est­ing Google Maps Functions:

– Mark­ers links to posts
– Set­tings for default con­trols

– Side­bar Wid­get
– GeoRSS points in feeds
– Set default map zoom level.
– Show post maps on cat­e­gory and archive pages.

Fur­ther devel­op­ments reach out for advanced features:

imag­ine the com­bi­na­tion of your post with the map­ping of the con­tent by enter­ing a pic­ture at the tar­geted loca­tion: For exam­ple: if we want to pro­mote a hotel at a spe­cific loca­tion, or if we talk about a nat­ural site, a mon­u­ment or such like, we can place a mar­ket at the exact spot on the map, zoom in and then look at the pic­ture taken from this place and loaded to Google Maps; the pic­ture is then linked back to us, our direc­tory, reg­is­tra­tion, opt-in, order or con­tact form.
